I'm going to be making back-ups of our community on both JournalFen and Greatest Journal (and possibly elsewhere) later this week and once I finish with that, we'll be able to talk more about future happenings of our group.

I had more or less come to a decision about our community, when I read the latest Live Journal news. Therefore, I'll need a few extra days to think about this.

In the meantime, I plan to start backing up my journals and communities here and I strongly suggest that all of you do the same.

Hugs and I'll be talking with you again on Monday.

I am so sorry about being this late in posting here, but as some of you already know, I've had a very difficult two weeks.

Moreover, there are also growing problems currently between the owners and managers of Live Journal and the fan culture and I honestly feel the problems are going to continue before they get any better.

Therefore, we have to decide what we are going to do. Should we stay here, move elsewhere or do something else altogether? I really would like to hear what you have to say about this, because it involves the future of our group.

Please think carefully about this and let me know your feelings. I want to hear from as many of you as possible before I reach a decision.

The very best to all of you here and I'll back on Thursday.

Hi, everybody! This is just a quick post to let you all know we've decided to keep the group on Yahoo active for another six months. At the end of that time, if we're free to do so, we'll start moving the files. And if not, we'll delete the group then.

I also modified today the settings of our community; we now have open membership here. So hopefully, we'll have more new friends soon.

Finally, those of you who have a Greatest Journal account may want to join our sister community there, should we have additional problems at this location. So if you are interested, please click on Dohmah and sign up. We'd love to see you there. :)

Now I have to run and see to dinner, but I'll see you again very soon. Take good care and I wish you all the very best.

Hello, everyone! I meant to post this yesterday, but real life and the weather managed to get in the way.

Now, I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about the characters and that got me wondering: what do you see as the defining moment in the their lives? While I have my own ideas, I would love to hear your thoughts.

As for the fic idea, I think it would be fun to create cross-over drabbles or stories, featuring the characters and situations of both due South and another fandom. Again, it can be any genre you wish and gen, het or slash.

Finally, my partners and me had made tentative plans to move the fiction files from the original group to this location. However, we've run into a snag in that everyone currently is amazingly busy. So the thinking is, we'll either delete the group or put off any moving until next year. And as soon as we reach a decision, we'll let you know about it.

I have to run now and see to some chores while it's not raining, so I'll see you again next Thursday. Take good care of yourselves and I hope you have a great week. :)

I've updated the fic at www.fanfiction.net/~zzzaney for those who were interested in reading it. I've been writing lately, and figure it's best to just keep everything at one place.

BTW, if someone posts here, is there a way to assign LJ to send the msgs automatically to one's email?

PART 9

It took Ben a moment for his eyes to adjust to the darkness of the room, but there she was. He felt a hollow twist in his gut as he quietly moved toward the bed. She looked so fragile. He could barely believe she’d been able to sneak out of the hospital.

The only thing Ben wanted to do was hold her in his arms and never let go. Swallowing hard, he forced himself to turn away and let her rest, though what he wanted – more than anything – was to hear her speak to him.

As he reached for the doorknob he heard a rustling from the bed.

“Fraser” Meg rasped, thinking she had to be dreaming. If it weren’t for the pain she was in, she’d have no choice but to believe it. She watched as he paused and hesitantly turned towards her again.

Relief welled through her as she looked at him. He was here and that’s all that mattered. Forcing a small smile, she spoke. “You look like hell.”

Ben was frozen by the door. He never meant to wake her, but now that she was awake; the relief of having her chastise him! He wasn’t certain of his welcome. She told him he looked like hell and he realized how much he missed her.

Clearing his throat he took a few steps towards the bed. “Yes Sir, I suppose I do.” He agreed.

Meg held her hand out and Ben gently held it in his. She tugged him closer still, and he found himself sitting on the edge of the bed, trying not to jar her.

“I’m not going to die, Fraser. You don’t have to look at me like that.” Meg joked, grateful to feel his strong, warm hand encasing hers.

Ben looked down at their twined fingers. “I’m sorry.” He choked out. “I didn’t… I never intended for you to get hurt.”

Meg shook her head. “It’s not your fault, Ben.-“ She coughed and looked towards the cup of water on the nightstand. Ben quickly reached for it and held her up while she drank. He carefully eased her back to her pillow when she was finished.

Meg let out a sigh as she looked up at him. “Someone set you up, Ben. The files… everything, is missing. We need to find who…”

“I know Sir.” Ben replied, though he still knew he was ultimately responsible for not checking out the boiler when she asked.

Meg grimaced and Ben twisted slightly so he could take in the rest of her, though the blanket covered her legs. “You know, Turnbull is under the assumption that you were discharged from the hospital,” he paused, watching the play of emotions across her face. The first being panic, and he knew she was trying to think of a suitable story. “I believe we both know that’s not the case.” He finished, and watched as she accepted the fact that she wasn’t going to be able to pull the wool over his eyes. Instead, she gave him a small smile.

“I don’t think he needs to know all the details.” Meg said, hoping he’d agree. The last thing she wanted was for Turnbull to go into a panic.

“When was the last time your dressings were changed?” Ben asked, and had to suppress a smile when he saw her fidget. “I thought so.” He also noted how tired she was. He reached for the Motrin on her nightstand and poured two into his hand. He handed them to her and helped her sit up again, all without a word. Reaching over, he grabbed the cup and held it to her lips again. Once he settled her in he straightened and took two steps away from the bed.

“In the morning I’ll change your bandages.” He stated, and for once he was the one in charge. Meg opened her mouth but before she could protest he cut her off. “It’s either that, or I get Turnbull in her to do it.”

Meg closed her mouth and after a moment, Ben nodded once and headed for the door. When he was in the hallway he turned to look back. “Rest. We’ll get to the bottom of this.” Meg nodded and her eyes started to drift shut. In a more quiet voice, he added, “I received your letter. Thank you.” Before she could reply he gently closed the door.

Don't know if this will work, but here goes...

Here's a good one. I'm about to write a ficlet off the fly, and I DON'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE ONE TIME CHARACTER THAT THE FIC IS ABOUT LOL LOL LOL let's see if ya'll can guess who it is?? OK< I do remember now... but I didn't at first.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Yeah, I'll be right there."
Closing her cell phone as she backed out of the parking lot, she gave the gorgeous man in the stetson one last look. Too bad he was certifiable.
"B-e-n-t-o" She muttered out loud. Who in God's name would actually curse a child with that moniker? Being a journalist she'd seen it all. Or so she thought.  This guy definitely had some issues. No matter, he was on the take and she was the one who was going to break this story. It may even get her a Pulitzer.
So, just what did one wear on a date with a bodacious boxer who skirted the underworld of deceit? Smiling, Mackenzie King punched the volume button on her radio as she floored the car. She has just the outfit in mind....
hehe So, there it is. Remember Diefenbakers Day Off? First season, second episode after the pilot. Who's next??
